Product Introduction:

Syn (Synaptophysin) is a 38kDa glycoprotein primarily located in the membranes of presynaptic vesicles of neurons. It is normally expressed in the adrenal medulla, islets of Langerhans, parafollicular C cells of the thyroid, chief cells of the parathyroid, anterior pituitary cells, carotid body, neuroendocrine cells of the skin and visceral epithelium, astrocytes in the central nervous system, and neuroendocrine cells of the gastrointestinal mucosa. It is mainly used for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors, such as small cell lung carcinoma and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Positive expression can also be seen in Merkel cell carcinoma, pheochromocytoma, ganglionic neuroblastoma, ganglioneuroma, paraganglioma, and neuroblastoma, as well as in Ewing's sarcoma.
