CD235a, also known as Glycophorin A, is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of red blood cells and serves as a specific carrier for the M and N blood groups. CD235a plays an important role in maintaining red blood cell morphology, membrane flexibility, and mechanical stability, and is involved in regulating interactions between red blood cells and other blood cells. CD235a is a marker of erythroid cells, and its expression levels are significantly elevated in erythroleukemia. Detecting CD235a aids in the diagnosis, prognosis assessment, and disease monitoring of erythroleukemia.
