Product Introduction:

SOX-10 (SRY-related HMG-box 10, sex-determining region Y-box protein 10 gene) is a neural crest transcription factor that plays an important role in the differentiation, maturation, and functional maintenance of Schwann cells and melanocytes. It is located on chromosome 22q13.1 and is a member of the SOX gene family. In normal tissues, it is expressed in glial cells, Schwann cells, melanocytes, and myoepithelial cells (salivary glands, bronchi, and mammary glands). It is positively expressed in almost all nevi and malignant melanomas, neurofibromas, malignant melanomas with fibrous tissue proliferation, neurofibromas, and granular cell tumors; it is also expressed in brain astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas, PNET, triple-negative breast cancer, salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma, acinic cell carcinoma, epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma, myoepithelial tumors, and others. It serves not only as a marker for Schwann cell and melanocyte tumors but also as a marker for soft tissue myoepithelial tumors. It is mainly used in research related to melanoma and tumors derived from the neural crest.
