Applications:
1. Differential diagnosis between malignant melanoma and nevus (deep negative);
2. Diagnosis of malignant melanocytic tumors. Epithelioid cells (+) in melanoma, spindle/pleomorphic melanomas, and special types such as neurogenic, rhabdomyoblastic, sarcomatoid melanomas often show no expression or very few punctate positive spots;
3. Positive in PEComas such as angiomyolipoma, clear cell sugar tumor, lymphangioleiomyomatosis;
4. Also positive in adrenal cortex and its tumors.
