HNF1B is a transcription factor associated with multiple organs such as the liver, kidney, and pancreas. It plays an important role in the specific gene expression process of hepatic progenitor cells and is crucial in the development of nephron function and regulation of pancreatic embryonic development. It is expressed in bile duct epithelial cells, appendix, gallbladder, and renal tubules. It shows positive expression in ovarian clear cell tumors (including benign, malignant, and borderline types), renal clear cell carcinoma, and urothelial carcinoma, while it is rarely expressed in other types of ovarian epithelial tumors.
Applications:
1. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian clear cell carcinoma;
2. High expression in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma;
3. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of testicular germ cell tumors.
