CD45RO, a marker of activated T cells, is expressed in most glandular cells, T cells, granulocytes, mature monocytes, and some macrophages.
Applications:
1. Differentiation between T-cell lymphoma and B-cell lymphoma. 75% of T-cell lymphomas are positive, such as AITL, PTCL-NOS, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, hepatic/splenic T-cell lymphoma, etc.
2. 25% of AML; histiocytic sarcoma;
3. Multiple myeloma; some plasma cell tumors;
4. Most B cells and B-cell lymphomas are negative; not expressed in NK cells, cancer, or autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome.
