CD2, also known as LFA-2 (Lymphocyte function associated antigen-2), belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is a member of the CD2/CD48/CD58 family. It functions to regulate the adhesion of activated T cells and thymocytes to antigen-presenting cells and target cells. It is expressed on T lymphocytes, thymocytes, and most NK cells. It can be used for the differential diagnosis of T-cell lymphoma and B-cell lymphoma.
