CD23 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 45kDa, mainly expressed on germinal center-activated B cells and follicular dendritic cells. The vast majority of low-grade B-cell lymphomas, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia, express CD23 positively, but mantle cell lymphoma is CD23 negative. Additionally, 70% of primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphomas can express CD23 positively.
