Product Introduction:

The p63 gene is a member of the p53 gene family, located at chromosome 3q27-q29. The p63 protein plays a crucial role in the growth and development of various epithelial organs during the embryonic period. It is expressed in basal cells of squamous epithelium, urothelium, and thymic epithelium, basal cells of the prostate, myoepithelial cells of the breast and salivary glands. Its expression in myoepithelial cells is superior to SMA, and it is not expressed in myofibroblasts. p63 can serve as a marker for prostate basal cells and is not expressed in the vast majority of prostate tumors, similar in significance to 34βE12 or CK5/6. It is often used in combination with CK5/6 (or 34BE12) and AMACR for prostate tumor research. It shows positive expression in basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and bladder urothelial carcinoma, and can be used for differential diagnosis between invasive and non-invasive cancers of the breast, salivary glands, and prostate. Combined with Calretinin, it can be used to differentiate olfactory neuroblastoma from other small round blue cell tumors of the nasal cavity; combined with Pax-8, it can distinguish renal collecting duct carcinoma (p63-/Pax-8+) from urothelial carcinoma (p63+/Pax-8-).
