Molecular weight is 46 kD. Positive in some gastric and almost all intestinal adenocarcinomas, urothelial carcinoma cells, Merkel cell carcinoma, etc., to be referenced with CK7.
Applications:
1. Used in combination with CK7 for differential diagnosis of the primary site of metastatic cancer;
2. Differentiation between urothelial carcinoma in situ (deep cell positive) and reactive urothelial hyperplasia (only surface cell positive);
3. Diagnosis of Merkel cell carcinoma.
