PDGFRa (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha) is a tyrosine receptor and belongs to proto-oncogenes. It plays an important role in organ development, wound healing, and tumor progression. Especially in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), PDGFRa has a high expression probability and is often used as a diagnostic marker for GIST. Mutations in the PDGFRa gene are not only common in GIST but also found in glioblastoma, malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, and other tumors.
