Product Introduction:

Pgp (P-glycoprotein) is a transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 170 kDa and is a product of the multidrug resistance (MDR) gene. It has an energy-dependent "drug pump" function, capable of binding both drugs and ATP. ATP provides energy to pump drugs out of the cell, reducing the intracellular drug concentration and causing drug resistance. It is mainly used in the study of various malignant tumors (such as renal cell carcinoma, liver cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, breast cancer, etc.). Drugs that easily induce resistance via Pgp mainly include vincristine, vinblastine, doxorubicin, and VP16, making it clinically significant for selecting chemotherapy regimens and predicting prognosis in tumor patients.
