HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen) is one of the markers of Hepatitis B virus infection. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection can lead to a disease state characterized by liver damage, inflammation, and viral persistence, increasing the risk of liver cancer. In liver cancer tissues, HBsAg positive reactions are weak and show focal distribution; in adjacent and non-cancerous tissues, positive reactions are strong and mainly show diffuse distribution. It is mainly used in the study of hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
